USA “THE SUPER POWER” PART 2

In this article about some of my views of the Super Power I have chosen some few but important issues being of interest to the whole world since the USA is considered a trend setter and this applies to both good and bad issues.

THE LEGAL SYSTEM

Should the American Legal System impress the world? When a person like O.J. Simpson, who killed his wife and her friend, gets off the hook because he could afford pay the best possible defense (at millions of USD) and maybe on the side some bribes for witnesses to not being able to remember clearly what actually happened? His fortune secured him a free life instead of what he deserved the death penalty.

USA “THE SUPER POWER” PART 1

In November 2000 we learned a lot about the World’s Super Power, The United States of America. The first thing was that in the State of Florida the law prescribes a mandatory 3-days-waiting period to purchase a handgun. The second lesson was that the (waiting) period for electing a President took considerable more time. Conclusion, now we know which activity the Americans consider more dangerous.

Had the Florida Supreme Court been smarter and accepted a more fair play, the USA would have been able to present the result of the election with a straight face. Now, as we all recall, it turned into a farce, the test of the democracy in the States failed completely leaving the world wonder, why the Americans claim that they have the best in the world.
